It's already mid-August and we find ourselves still painting Oregon. What a wonderful place; trees galore, mountains, pastures and exquisite vineyards. The wine is pretty darn good too! After a bit of white-knuckled driving down the coast to California and back up, it is nice to stay in one area for a bit to catch our breath.
The entire summer, since May actually, has been about travelling and painting. Just before coming to Oregon, we travelled and painted with an artist friend around beautiful Vancouver Island, BC for 10 days. Wish I could have captured more, but would need at least half a year to do it justice on canvas. Same with where we are now.
Don't have the ability to post new pictures as internet service in the Oregon 'wilderness' is spotty, but will upload more after returning to the studio in Alaska. When we are back in the next couple of weeks, I will also describe what paint I found to be perfect for an oil painter travelling extensively.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the summer as much as I am.
